This front cover is from the magazine 'Current Affairs.' The first article discusses 'tacky wall street art', with the rise and normalisation of street art comes criticism as featured in this magazine. The second article is about 'questionable writing tips', this explores the credibility of new writing styles. The third article analyses the flaws and components of the police of Uzbekistan. The fourth article features a controversial title 'Multiculturalism rots brains' and discusses alternative viewpoints of the introduction of multiculturalism.

The second article is about the company Google giving business assistance in restarting. The third article is a more lifestyle based topic, discussing tips for motivation and success, or 'human hacks'. The final article shown on this cover is photo based, presenting NASA's new gallery of 'space icons.'

  TASK 1: INDUSTRY: Research Dennis Publishing UK Brief history of Dennis Publishing UK Dennis publishing was created by publisher and entrepreneur Felix Dennis in Fitzrovia, London. Dennis identified a gap in the publishing market, computers. From this, Dennis then launched and acquired a series of computer titles, such as Hi-Fi Choice, PC Pro, and Personal Computer World magazines. This resulted in Dennis Publishing becoming the United Kingdom's leading technology publisher. In 1995, Maxim was launched. This was a title that originated from the back of a beer mat, and soon became the world's biggest, bestselling men's lifestyle magazine and global brand. Dennis acquired what is now Dennis' flagship brand 'The Week', in 1996.   TASK 3: CONVENTIONS Basic conventions Masthead – the masthead is the title block for the magazine, usually this is the most eye-catching convention on a page and has to be distinct Menu – the list of contents inside the paper By-line – name of the reporter  Caption – text underneath a image explaining it Headline - main statement, usually in the largest and boldest font, describing the main story, a banner headline spans the full width of the page Analysis of magazine covers The Week Analysis The first cover I have chosen to analyse is The Week Typically, The Week has a  humorous , caricature front cover.
